My Educational Philosophy

Education, as both a process and an institution, is an inextricable and fundamental part of my identity. The child of two teachers, the majority of my worldview has been informed by the experiences afforded me through the American public and international schools that I have attended. My schools provided me with the knowledge necessary to understand and impact my surroundings, connect me with my diverse host communities and foster my love of exploring issues through the lenses of cultural and ideological perspectives vastly different from my own.

I believe that education is a powerful tool for social progress. Schools serve a key function in our society of providing individuals with the capabilities they need to be active and responsible citizens. Thus, as an educator, I am committed to providing quality and meaningful learning for all of my students so that they can find fulfillments and harness their knowledge and skills to contribute meaningful ways to their communities and our world.
